Love is Patient

Good Afternoon Morsel Family -

I am starting a Love Series within my daily morsel messages that will speak to "The Excellence of Love". I know I need a lot of help in this department [learning to love and be loved by actions and not just words]. At the end of the series we all would have learned how to love the way God intended.

We have all probably heard and read chapter 13 in 1st Corinthians, which speaks about love. I believe we have examined Christ's Love for us and now we can re-examine the 13th Chapter. I believe we should come up with a month long fast to help us focus on Love, because without Love, nothing in the Kingdom of God works. [fyi the fast would include focusing on love throughout the month..........really loving our enemies and so forth...It will be hard, but worth it.] In Cor 13:2 It speaks about having all the faith in the world (moving mountains and all), BUT WITHOUT LOVE, WE ARE NOTHING.

The below shows what God says love is and is not.

Love:
Is Patient
Is Kind
Is Not Jealous
Doesn't Brag
Is Not Arrogant
Doesn't Act Unbecoming
Is Not Selfish
Is Not Easily Angered or Provoked
Doesn't Keep a Record of Wrongs
Is Righteous (Doesn't like Unrightenousness)
Is Truthful (Rejoices in the Truth)
Believes all Things
Hopes All Things
Endures All Things
Never Fails

Our First Focus is Patient.  Love is Patient.

Patient means to bear or endure. To have patience means to have endurance.

According to Galatians 5:22, patience is one of the nine components of the fruit of the spirit. It involves endurance in suffering or tolerance of others. It is good to know that patience is one of the components of the fruit of the spirit, because that means as born again believers, we were given patience, however it has not had its perfect work in us. The good news is that God is still working on us.

The Lord has been patient with us because, remember he loved us when we were yet sinners, however using God's  demonstration, we know that to love is to have patience, so God waited patiently for us to make the choice to have life and we became saved. God demonstrated this to us because he wanted us to do the same thing in all of our relationships. He wanted us to keep forgiving and keep forgetting. He wanted us to be patient when our spouses don't take on the household chores he wanted us to be patient when you wanted your significant other to change, however it seemed like the process was taking a long time. He wanted us to be patient when our family talks out the side of their neck. He wanted us to be patient when we kept being hurt by the ones who love you. He wanted us to be patient, when your "friends" did you wrong. He wanted us to be patient when our parents forsaked us and treated us in a manner we didn't like and we were left holding the pain bag. He wanted us to be patient on the job where you keep giving, but you don't feel like your "getting". All of this because he wants you to endure, he wants you to bear , because he wants you to be developed. In James 1:3, its says be glad when you suffer, because it is the building of your character.

To love is to bear all things. To love is to hold on and be patient and have faith that God will take care of the sistuation. Let's hold each other accountable to be patient, so we walk in love in everything we do.

Are you being patient with your spouse or mother, brother, friend? Have they NOT made a change that you hoped would happen? Are there situations in your marriage that you are unhappy about and you have seen a change? Have people you love upset you and promised to change but haven't? Well we are now challenged to walk in Love and be patient in dealing with the  situation. Remember you don't have to sit and wait for things to change. You do have to pray and believe and then be patient and know that LOVE NEVER FAILS.

I love you all and remember in all your getting, get understanding. Love Crecia

Dear Crecia, I loved this message. You and I talk personally all the time about our relationships whether it's dealing with family, friends or our significant others. I am glad you wrote a message about patience because it's something I needed to hear today in my own journey of building and rebuilding relationships. Thank you for sharing this. I love you.

Crecia, thanks so much for this message girl. I've definitely been going through my own journey with love & patience and this message was right on time for me today. I heard a song on the radio today about patience and love so I guess God is trying to tell me something. Thanks again for this, it was much needed.
