Psalms 23 is an awesome staple in your prayer life when you need to feel the security of the Lord and his provision. We have all read Psalm 23, but this time take the opportunity to meditate on the word and feel the warmth and security of God's Love.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
What do you need? The Lord knows you need a car, home, clothes, food, income, job, love, relationships and etc. He knows and he wants to let you know again that you should never be in want. Take this opportunity to pray to God for your needs and then stand on his word, believing that you have already received.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me besides the quiet waters and restores my soul.
The Lord is a restorer. Have you been hurt? Have you been betrayed? Have you been stressed? Well, this word is for you, he restores your soul, he restores your well being so that you can have peace beside the quiet waters. He is Jehovah Shalom - the Prince of Peace, he wants you to have peace. So right now make a decision to give God your pain and your stress...give him the load and enjoy watching the still streams.
He guides me in the paths of righteousness, for his names sake.
The Lord is an awesome shepherd and when we follow the paths he has shown us, it will offer contentment in our lives. The Lord wants us to be like the sheep and the lamb, who are totally Dependant on their shepherd for provision, guidance and protection. Let the Lord do his job and let us do ours.....follow him so we can do his will. We were created to do his will and the dreams he placed in our heart are there to glorify him, for his names sake. Let's make a decision to follow his will and give him the glory in all situations.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for you are with me; Your rod and staff, they comfort me,
Through the valley of our life, we have to remember that it is just that...a valley, a test, a trial that will make you stronger. You can't have a testimony without a test. You have to understand that it is developing you. In James 1:3, it says consider it pure joy when you face various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance (patience). And let endurance have its perfect result , so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. We have to have faith that his word is true and we ought not be afraid. Further more, what is there to be afraid of???? A shadow? It never said we were walking through death or beside death, its just a mere shadow to get you to FEAR! And God is there with us, so we won't fear any evil.
What valley are you walking through today? Relationship troubles, job or career woes, trouble getting business or ministry started? Are you walking through the valley of financial burden or sickness or disease? These are all mere valleys and shadows. We cannot be afraid, we have to step out on his word and know that he is with us and he comforts us.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have annoited my head with oil; my cup overflows.
He is about to show out, he said he will prepare a table before you in the presence of your HATERS or enemies! So while those who have hurt you or plot your demise or who hate on you, will see for themselves how the Lord has blessed you and how your cup overflows. So, continue to walk in love as the Haters Hate......its okay! The Lord is about the show out and they will see.
Surely goodness and mercy (lovingkindness) will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
You have to know that goodness and mercy shall follow you always. You have to KNOW that you are a child of God and if your daddy wanted good things for you, how much more would your Daddy in Heaven want you to have goodness and mercy!
